Construction
Method and materials
The boat will be constructed using high quality materials sourced primarily from our suppliers in New Zealand.
The basic laminates will be a combination of carbon fiber and eglass laminates with a foam core and epoxy resins.
The boat will be painted in marine grade Polyurethane paints with an epoxy undercoat to the underwater surfaces and non skid on the deck surfaces.
All underwater surfaces, hull and foils, are race faired and epoxy undercoated ready for antifoul.
Spars and Rigging
Spars and rigging are supplied by NZ Rigging Ltd from New Zealand
Mast is carbon fiber with integral track
Boom and bow pole are carbon fiber
Rigging is discontinuous rod with spectra topmast runners
Deck Hardware
Deck hardware is a combination of Harken and Ronstan
Jammers Lewmar
Winches – 2 cabin top and 2 sheet winches on deck by Andersen
Hatches
The main hatch is sliding with drop in washboard
Forward hatch is custom flush fitting Perspex to the purchases specified
Foils
The keel is manufactured with a carbon fiber beam and fitted bulb.
The keel is fitted with a weed cutter to the leading edge of the keel
The rudder is carbon fiber transom hung with a carbon fiber tiller
Electrical
The electrical system is 12v with a 4 panel circuit breaker.
All lights are LED type
Navigation lights deck mounted
4 interior lights
The battery will be suitable to run the instrument package and for engine starting and will be housed in front of the engine
All wiring will be concealed, with conduits where practical
