If you want to beat the 40 footers in comfort you can’t go past the new T1150

Sailing :

This is a serious attempt by Thompson International to get people back into affordable boats that is both exciting and fun to sail with accommodation for the whole family.
Sailing controls and deck layout is very simple with a large cockpit sporting a raised coaming for the mainsheet and controls to pass through.

The bow prod is articulating and extending with all controls operating from the cockpit. This boat has been setup for easy short handed sailing.
It is fast and powerful with a 100% ballast ratio to help drive it upwind at speed. The hull shape is very well balanced like all Thompson Designed boats and very easy to steer in all conditions.

Below decks there is full headroom with an enclosed head, full galley with cooler or fridge/freezer and chart table. The interior is clear coated Kevlar with cabin and accommodation fitout painted white semi-gloss.

The construction is highly specified with Kevlar skins over foam core using epoxy resins. The keel is high tensile steel with lead bulb attached and the rudder is full carbon with a carbon fiber shaft.

The pedigree of this design has been developed from the T35 (37ft) racing in the USA. This boat has swept all before it in all its racing and continues to be a great performer and yet retains the traditional Thompson ease of sailing characteristics.

This is an excellent boat for offshore regattas or harbour racing – with the bonus of being able to slide away for a weekend’s fast cruising with a few friends.
If you are looking for a fast and affordable boat capable of beating the 40 footers around the course, you can’t go past the Thompson T1150/Stomp38.
