Choice of two deck layouts meets racing and cruising requirements, take the race team Coastal or Ocean Racing with the bonus of quiet times away with the family

The T1280 is designed to be a versatile 40 foot racing yacht with all the basic accommodation requirements. The boat will perform well in all conditions and is suitable for club racing and offshore. Construction is simple and designed to utilise modern materials in an economic way to provide a fast yet economically built boat.

The interior is simple but functional with sleeping for 6 and a dinette table and a full galley, enclosed head is provided. The keel configuration has two options; one as a conventional fixed keel and the other a hydraulically lifting keel that allows the draft to be reduced to 2.4 meter while not racing. This keel is pinned down and fits flush with the top of the galley unit when in use. The keel is easily removed for transporting.

Non overlapping jibs are used for ease of use and efficiency. The asymmetric spinnakers are flown from a carbon fibre internally articulating bow prod. An anchor well in the bow diverts water from the prod from the interior of the boat. The carbon fibre mast is simply stayed with no runners and an adjustable topmast backstay. Forestay tension is developed from the backstay and mainsheet tension.
