Regatta series

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Vietnam Regatta Series represent a tangible sailing event calendar for the entire year! Four events are scheduled around the southern part of the Vietnamese Coast. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow sailors and compete in a friendly environment.

Click on the photo for more info…….

Format: Think of the series like a sailing Grand Prix. Each event is a race in itself, with its own results and prizes. In addition, points for the Grand Finale are scored based on the position each team gets at each events. At the Grand Finale, all points are summed up to determine the winning crew of the year.

This year, teams are expected to be composed of 2 people, 1 skipper and 1 crew. The boats to be sailed will range between a laser sizes to a small catamaran sizes. Namely, T450s, designed and built in Vietnam by Steve Thompsonhttp://www.tboat.com/.

Each race’s organization and setup will change slightly to keep things interesting and details will be announced in advance. That being said, teams can expect a fair and friendly environment where both experienced and beginner sailors can enjoy and learn sailing. Parts of the regattas will be dedicated to supporting beginners to improve their skills.

Event Registration: To register for one of the regattas, please go on the event details page where you will be able to find the registration form.
